Laminated Glass offers design flexibility & safety
Laminated glass is a form of safety glass that is made up by two or more pieces of glass bonded together by an interlayer. This interlayer is most commonly made of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) or ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA). Our products are typically laminated using an EVA interlayer which enables the glass to sustain high levels of impact & keep the layers of glass together even when broken.
Not only is Laminated glass a safety glass but it can also be a form of insulation and protection against UV fading. The bonded panes block a majority of the UV radiation while allowing most of the visible light through. This double paned process also makes Laminated Glass an effective way to reduce unwanted outside noise while retaining the clarity of a standard window or door with very little distortion.
Many of the textured glass patterns we offer are able to be laminated making it an excellent opportunity to use decorative glass instead of just clear glass in applications that require the use of safety glass.
